There's no hidden mystique to the French banking system. Many Brits
are wary of using one because of the language barrier and because of
the unknown. If you know the system, however,
they are remarkably easy to deal with and we have completed
many introductions leading to successful mortgage applications.
Here
in the Nord, we enjoy a very good working relationship with several
banks and are able to organise introductions and accompanied visits
to assist with opening accounts and applying for mortgages.
It
is also worth bearing in mind that, even if buying down south or over
in the west, wherever in France, an account can be opened in a bank in
the North and a mortgage application submitted for any area of France.
It is also not obligatory to have a French address to open an account.
